Raster processing without changing the original

A processing pipeline built around inspection, explicit transformations, output validation and the untouched source.

A useful image pipeline starts by distinguishing the source from the version a particular interface needs. Resizing, format conversion and optimization should not silently overwrite the original.

Inspect before processing.

PFx Raster Core can inspect still-image dimensions, orientation, alpha and ICC profile presence. A processing request describes the resize bounds and format explicitly. Input signatures, dimension limits and generated output are validated before a result is returned.

Quality is a constraint, not a slogan.

The current alpha includes bounded quality-versus-size candidate comparison. It does not guarantee perceptual equivalence after lossy encoding and it is not an AI upscaler or a storage system. The first engine uses Sharp and libvips behind a replaceable processing boundary.

Preserving source bytes, handling transparency intentionally and retaining or explicitly converting color profiles are the practical rules that make the core safer to reuse. Its API does not require network access or a hosting service.
